2010-2012 Hood Installation Guide:

Preparation:    To reduce the risk of scratches during fitment, we recommend taping the edges of both fenders and the cowl panel using 2" masking tape. Raise the stock hood and place terrycloth towels under the rear edges of the hood to prevent the cowl panel from being scratched while removing it and adjusting new hood.

NOTE:  The striker bar and washer nozzles from your stock hood will be used on your new hood.

1)  Remove striker bar from factory hood and install it on your new hood: We recommend using Locktite on the threads.

2)  Remove washer nozzles from stock hood:   Pull hood liner back and from underside of hood, remove the grey C-clip that connects each nozzle to the washer hose. Remove the nozzles from the hood by inserting a small straight-head screwdriver just above the plastic nozzle. Gently push in until the clips release the nozzle from the hood. Once removed from hood, separate the nozzle from the black tube.

3)  Install washer nozzles:   Insert nozzles into hoses on new hood . Once hose and nozzle are securely connected, press nozzle into opening until you hear a click.

4)  Center Hood:    Install new hood using only (2) of the (4) 10mm hinge bolts (Install only one on each side). Snug bolts just enough to allow minor movement while still holding its position. Get hood centered front, rear, left and right. Once centered, install the other two 10mm bolts into the hinges and tighten to 15-20 ft.-lbs. of torque.

5)  Adjust Hinge Height:    Close hood and check height of rear edge of hood relative to the cowl panel area. If adjustment up or down is needed, loosen the two bolts holding each hinge into the firewall. Adjust hinge height to desired level by installing shims underneath hinges and re-tighten bolts.

6)  Adjust Bump-Stops:    Adjust height of front of hood by screwing the two bump-stops in or out. Match height of hood to height of fenders.

7)  Adjust Latch Mechanism:   When hood is properly  adjusted, you will hear the striker bar "click" into the latch mechanism.

8)  Test Safety Catch:   Close hood and pull hood release from inside car. Pull up on hood and move it left and right at the same time. If hood opens without pulling the safety catch lever, the safety catch needs readjusted. Adjust safety catch until it holds properly.

IMPORTANT!  MAKE SURE SAFETY CATCH IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY! The safety catch prevents hood from raising in the event that the hood is not properly latched.

Once Hood is properly installed, tighten all bolts to 15-20 ft.-lbs. of torque.

TEST HOOD:  Drive car in city and highway environments. Check to see if there is any shaking of hood while driving. If so, adjust latch mechanism down, or bump-stops up a bit more to eliminate any movement.
